These two cool music events in DC are way to cool to miss.
This Thursday, Nov. 12th, a show by Calm and Crisis, an alternative rock band made up of AU students, will be going down at DC 9 at 9:00 PM, and they will be opening for a touring band called Dilly Dally. A Calm and Crisis show is a guaranteed good time (I know from first hand experience), full of energy and excitement. Gastón Reboredo, a fan who has been to several of their shows, put it the best way saying that “Calm & Crisis brings a unique kind of energy to their memorable live performances. The raw power and emotion they bring invokes a passionate response from their audience and their music plucks the heartstrings of all who hear it.” Come on out and support your own! Check out their bandcamp and facebook for a preview of their sound!
The second event is “An Evening with Timbaland” – Thursday, Nov 19th, at 6:30 PM at the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library-Central Library.
Timbaland… Yea I said it, the producer who has worked with Kanye, Jay-Z, Justin Timberlake, Nas, Madonna and many more! As a songwriter he has written as of 2014 85 UK hits and 99 hits Stateside. That is incredible! With the release of his book, he is now touring to talk about his music career along with his creative process as the Executive Producer behind the hit television show Empire. This is a really great event for not only those who love his work, but also those who aspire to work in the music industry. It’s a one in a lifetime even to learn from a great! RSVP ticket + book holders will also receive an Empire gift bag and t-shirt AND, there will be an opportunity for photos! Click here for more details!
