The record collection of legendary BBC1 DJ John Peel is going up for the public to view and interact with on thespace.org – 100 new records each week from now until October, and more to follow after that.
There’s a nice little introductory video on thespace’s main page (lower-right corner), but click here if you want to get right into it. Their site also has a Peel Sessions discography, audio clips from his radio shows, photos, etc. And the records include pictures of his typewritten catalog cards, outer and inner (where he made notes on particular tracks) record sleeves, and Spotify links when available. It’s a beautiful way to present this fascinating archival material, and easy to get lost in.
