Streaming Pierre Henry documentary “The Art of Sounds”

Pierre Henry Via Dangerous Minds: Take a look at this documentary on musique concrète pioneer Pierre Henry, who wrote some of the most off-the-wall electronic music of his day, scored films, and created popular(ish) multimedia music and projection concerts in the 1960s.

The documentary combines discussion and footage of his previous work with scenes of Henry preparing music for a concert at his home.

The library has a few of his works available. On CD we have “Orphée 53: Spectacle lyrique,” which he composed with Pierre Schaeffer.

We also have quite a few LPs (available at Media Services): Le Voyage, Variations for a Door and a Sigh, Entité, and Apocalypse de Jean.
