Reduced hours during break

Eric Dolphy - Out to LunchFinals are winding down, so it’s time for us to take a little bit of a rest. Here’s our schedule through the end of winter break:

We are CLOSED: Saturday 12/17; Friday 12/23 through 1/1; and Monday 1/16 (MLK Day)

We are 9am-5pm, Monday-Friday otherwise. That’s 12/19 through 12/22 and 1/2 through 1/13.

Regular hours resume with classes on Tuesday, January

While you’re on break, don’t forget that you can take advantage of our streaming audio databases – Naxos, Naxos Jazz, and American Song – from wherever you may be. You’ll just have to login using your MyAladin credentials.

If you feel like picking up some new skills now that you have some free time, there’s also Lynda.com, which has a number of courses that may be of interest to musicians, from digital audio basics to ProTools, Logic, and GarageBand.

Have a great break!

Eric Owens is performing 12/9, and it’s a steal for students

Eric Owens, Bass-BaritoneYou might remember that Eric Owens was set to perform earlier this fall, but took ill and was unable to sing. You might also remember that Vocal Arts DC had pretty phenomenal deals for students – including FREE tickets for music students.

Well Eric Owens is BACK in DC, performing this Friday, December 9th at 7:30 PM in the Kennedy Center Terrace Theater. And the student deals still stand for this and all other VADC recitals.

From our previous post on this subject:

In order to get the general student price ($15) or the free tickets for music students, email Robert at robertsheehan@vocalartsdc.org.

The season kicks off with bass-baritone, Eric Owens performing a program of Hugo Wolf, Robert Schumann, Franz Schubert, Claude Debussy, Henry Duparc, Maurice Ravel, and Richard Wagner. Here’s the full program.

The next VADC performance will be Lydia Teuscher on January 26th. Be sure to contact Robert if you’d like a ticket to that as well.
