TODAY: Lawrence Lessig Wireside Chat

The main library will be presenting Lawrence Lessig‘s wireside chat today from 6pm to 7:30pm in the Training and Events Room on the first floor.

Lessig is the leading advocate for copyright reform in America, and author of several books on the topic including Free Culture and Remix. If you’re unfamiliar with his critiques and ideas, I strongly recommend that you attend. Copyright law may be a dry topic, but a firm understanding is important for all content creators – musicians, composers, arrangers, authors, and so on – and Lessig is about as engaging a speaker on the subject as there is.

The event will consist of a 45 minute lecture, followed by a 30 minute Q&A. For more information, check out the Open Video Alliance website.
